The Charles Bertmetz Estate has donated the work of illustrator Charles Bertmetz who created Mr. Brootimus for the first edition of Harriet Wolf's first novel,
Tender Weeds. It was sketched at the 42nd Street Oyster Bar in Raleigh, North Carolina in the late 1940s.
